Introduction to the School of Nursing 

    The School of Nursing of He University adheres to the motto of "Dream, Gratitude, Knowledge, Perseverance, Results" and the educational philosophy of "All for the Students". The School focus on full life-cycle health management and integrates the concept of "holistic education" with the big health industry and social regional structure, it aims to cultivate innovative, service-oriented, and application-oriented nursing talents with excellent innovation spirit, practical skills, lifelong learning ability, and social responsibility.

    To improve students' post competency, the School of Nursing has established and implemented an integrated curriculum teaching reform that combines basic medicine and nursing with "organ system as the center". Through case analysis, group reporting, scenario simulation, flipped classroom and other forms, it helps students build knowledge structure, guides students to think, fully cultivate students' systematic theoretical knowledge and the holistic nursing concept of "people-oriented", and pay attention to the development of students' hands-on ability and "whole personality". Relying on the high-quality resources of more than 20 tertiary-level A-class comprehensive hospitals in and outside the province and the Liaoning Experimental Teaching Demonstration Center, the School of Nursing adopts virtual simulation teaching, high simulation training, SP patients, centralized practice and other methods to help students improve their nursing professional skills and develop stronger job competence and lifelong learning abilities.

    In terms of international development, the School of Nursing attaches great importance to the cultivation of students' global perspectives, actively expands international exchange channels, and provides students with overseas study and employment opportunities. The School has established long-term cooperation and exchange mechanisms with various well-known overseas universities and academic institutions, contributing the wisdom and strength of Chinese nursing to the development of the global nursing profession.

    Since 2014, the School has offered a specialized Japanese Nursing program, which implements elite small-class teaching with advanced teaching concepts, novel teaching models and rich teaching activities. In recent years, the School has achieved remarkable results, including winning the championship of the national undergraduate group, the second place in the operation group, the third place in the overall score at the first "Tianyan Cup" National Nursing (English) Professional Skills Competition, and the second place (ranked 14th nationwide) and third place (ranked 21st nationwide) in the National Undergraduate Clinical Skills Competition for undergraduate nursing majors, and first-place awards in the Liaoning Provincial Nursing Skills Competition, among various other awards at different levels.

    In terms of social responsibility practice, the School of Nursing not only emphasis the education of academic knowledge and professional skills, but also attaches more importance to the cultivation of students' sense of social responsibility and mission. In July 2023, the School established the Chinese Nightingale Volunteer Nursing Service Team of He University, actively encouraging and organizing students to engage with communities, nursing homes, social welfare institutions, primary and secondary schools, and other institutions to carry out various caring activities such as science popularization, physical examination activities, vision screening, etc.

    These activities sincerely focusing on serving local vulnerable groups, popularizing medical knowledge, and comprehensively improving students' overall abilities and professional qualities, enhancing their sense of social responsibility and mission, promoting their holistic development.

    The graduates of the School are highly praised by social employers and are active in major medical institutions such as the First Hospital of China Medical University and the General Hospital of Northern Theater Command, becoming the backbone of clinical nursing. The graduates of Japanese Nursing class not only work at well-known top-tier hospitals in the province and across China, over 10 graduates choose to study in Japan. Now they are working in major hospitals in large cities such as Tokyo, Kyoto, Nagoya etc., while several graduates chose to continue their studies in China and successfully admitted to master's degrees in prestigious universities.
